Warrior Dash

New to Lake Owen this year is our Lake Owen Warrior Dash.  Warrior dash is a friendly competition between cabins, campers, coaches, and counselors that runs through the entire camp. Competitors will be following tiki torches placed throughout camp to lead them to different activities.  Campers will run through a course that consists of different obstacles and tasks.  They will have to finish as a group before moving on to the next task and eventually they will finish by going down our newly added 220 foot waterslide. Some of the tasks they will have to accomplish are as follows:

-Climbing over three hay bails that stand at five feet tall

-Pushing a partner on a skateboard from one point to another

-Climbing/swinging across skateboard swings with help of teammates

-Running zig zag up and down a hill

-The plank: laying down 2x4’s on a stump to get the team from point A to point B

-Tarzan swing from one hay bail to the next

-Climbing up and sliding down a skate ramp

-Running up the stairs

-Finishing at our 220 foot waterslide (newly added this year)

The cabin that get’s the fastest time will be given a trophy to hang on the wall for the week.  Junior and senior campers compete in different divisions and there will be a junior cabin winner and a senior cabin winner.   It’s a lot of hard work but with everyone working together it’s a lot of fun!
